The less demanding stem plant Limnophila heterophylla 'sessiliflora' comes from Southeast Asia. The 40 to 50 cm high aquarium plant is perfect for the background of the aquarium and tolerates soft to hard water.
The swamp friend Limnophila heterophylla 'sessiliflora', which is very widespread in the aquarium hobby, is a very good aquarium plant for beginners. The fast-growing stem plant with the fine leaves is native to Southeast Asia. You can take advantage of their rapid growth to combat algae. The plant is pretty easy to care for and still snatches the nutrients away from the algae. Thanks to this competition, they cannot get out of hand.
With frequent pruning, you can achieve well-branched, dense bushes, the plants put up with the trimming very easily and respond well to it.
The light green, feathery leaves literally glow in the aquarium. Under strong light, the shoot tips turn rust-brown. It does not necessarily need CO2 fertilisation, but with CO2 the plants become stronger and the leaf colours develop more radiant.
For cuttings, pinch off pieces about 10 cm long at the tip of the shoots of your Limnophila heterophylla 'sessiliflora'. Simply place these pieces a few centimetres apart in the gravel or soil in the aquarium. They then develop into a new group.

Do you like the Cabomba aquarium plant with its beautiful fine pinnate leaves, but is it too time-consuming to care for? Here you will find the perfect alternative to the sometimes a bit fussy Cabomba. It looks almost exactly the same and is worlds easier to hold.
