JBL Zanzibar DARK (5 kg)

The JBL Zanzibar DARK is a black fine sandy soil with a grain size of 0.2-0.6 mm, which is suitable for freshwater and seawater aquariums, as well as for use in the terrarium.

JBL Zanzibar DARK is a repainted natural ground with coarse-grained, rounded sand for all aquariums and optimal for grounding animals, as this fine rounded quartz sand also occurs in the native waters of these animals. In watering fish such as rays, thorns and catfish, etc., the sensitive barbels are spared. The fine grain and dense storage prevents the infiltration of mulch and other waste, thus preventing decay processes that could hinder plant growth. For magnificent plant growth we recommend JBL AquaBasic plus long-term nutrient medium with JBL Zanzibar DARK as top layer. JBL Zanzibar DARK releases neither hardeners nor unwanted silicates to the aquarium water.

Application:
JBL Zanzibar DARK is pre-cleaned and therefore only needs to be rinsed briefly in tap water before use in order to remove transport-related abrasion. When filling with water, make sure not to disturb the floor. How to calculate the need for Zanzibar DARK for your aquarium (with a layer thickness of 5 cm): Length in cm x Width in cm / 140 = kg Zanzibar DARK.

Tip:
We recommend, prior to the introduction of the substrate, the possibility of a substrate for the promotion of plant growth, as well as the introduction of a floor heating cable such as the JBL ProTemp base, as a subsequent introduction requires an emptying of the complete aquarium!
