This fine-grained, coloured Olibetta gravel mix is suitable for freshwater aquariums. The fine grain is ideal for catfish and also for dwarf shrimps, which like to work through the ground. There are no sharp edges, no food seeps into the ground, the gravel does not compact, the plants still get enough nutrients and there is no risk of injury to the animals.
Olibetta gravel is guaranteed to be free of pollutants and does not give off anything to the water. It is manufactured according to DIN EN 71, part 3, which makes it even suitable for children's toys and gives a high level of safety. The small gravel granules in the harmonious colour combination are coated with a lasting, elastic synthetic resin, which is resistant to chemicals and CO2. Use this fine colourful aquarium gravel mix alone or together with other colours, play with different grains and set great accents - leave your imagination free space!
The fine-grained Olibetta gravel for the aquarium not only has a decorative function, but it also works like a giant biological filter, especially in conjunction with a floor washer or floor heater. The finer grain size of 0.8-1.2 mm is recommended for normal community tanks and for aquariums with bottom dwellers.
Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
Whether catfish, armoured catfish, shrimp and / or plants are to be kept in the aquarium, this finer grain provides a good, fine-looking alternative to coarse gravel. The harmonious colour mixture is very attractive.
Our gravel is plastic coated and may, therefore, be washed out only briefly and coldly before use in order to remove transport-related abrasion. The gravel should not be rinsed hot or heated above aquarium temperature.
