Description

sera med Professional Flagellol is a medicinal product for the treatment of freshwater fish in the presence of intestinal flagellates, other unicellular intestinal parasites, as well as velvet and white spot diseases.

Good housing conditions are the best way to prevent fish diseases. Despite all efforts, diseases are not always completely avoidable. Regardless of whether the pathogens were introduced by replanting/replanting or other factors are responsible for the outbreak, fast and effective action is always the order of the day. The sera products in the "Cure Diseases" range accompany the therapy from the supportive preparation to the actual treatment with specialised, effective sera medicinal products, right up to the cleaning and biological reactivation of the water after successful treatment.
Fish are generally sensitive to stress, whether due to transport, other or new additions, but also to unfavourable environmental conditions in the aquarium. This often affects the fish's immune system so that their defences are no longer intact. General signs of an infestation with flagellates are darkening of the fish, reluctance to eat and, as a result, only intestinal mucosa as slimy-filamentous, whitish faeces, severe emaciation and decay of the fin edges.
Spironucelus (Hexamita) occurs in the intestinal tract of many fish, especially discus, finfish and other cichlids. Flagellates can multiply in large quantities, irritate the intestinal wall and withdraw important nutrients, especially if the fish are exposed to other diseases, the type of diet or unfavourable water values. A common consequence is white spot disease, which is white spots or lesions in the head region. sera Flagellol destroys the pathogens and speeds up healing. Infected fish excrete with the droppings spironucleus, which encapsulate in the bottom of the aquarium to form a cyst and thus last for a long time before they infect fish again. Flagellol, however, enables a safe control of flagellates, both in fish and in the aquarium for cysts. Other parasites such as Trichomonas, Bodomonas, Cryptobia and Protoopalina can occur in the intestine of fish and can also be effectively combated with Flagellol.

Application:
Shake well before use! 1 ml of Flagellol is added to 40 litres of aquarium water and stirred in. The treatment lasts between 3-7 days (in the case of severe infestation). The water should be well ventilated during treatment. Then a water change of at least 80% must be carried out. If cloudiness occurs during the treatment, immediately change the water to 80%, add more medication and continue the treatment until the end. Medicines should generally not be overdosed, as already weakened fish could be more sensitive.

Note:
UV-C devices and CO2 systems should be switched off during treatment. Activated carbon and other absorbent filter media should be removed. The non-toxic solvents contained in the drug are biodegraded by beneficial bacteria. This happens with oxygen consumption. Under certain conditions, clouding and lack of oxygen can occur. To remove the solvents, a water change must, therefore, be carried out at the end of the treatment. During the application, fish should not be fed or only very sparingly. Flagellol is generally very well tolerated by shrimps and aquatic plants.
