Description
Cryptocoryne usteriana is a magnificent aquatic plant that is native to the Philippines. The rosette plant features extremely long leaves, which can reach up to 70 cm in length, making it a striking presence in the aquarium background.
Its leaves are a bright medium green colour with a characteristic reddish colour on the underside. This colour combination gives the plant a high-contrast look which is especially visible when light falls on the leaves.
In contrast to some other Cryptocoryne species, Cryptocoryne usteriana prefers less bright environments. It thrives in aquariums with medium to low lighting, making it a good choice for aquariums with less intense light. The rosette plant grows well in hard, alkaline water, highlighting its adaptability to various water conditions.
