Anubias Anubias Barteri var. Nana 'Golden Heart'
The Anubias barteri var. Nana 'Golden Heart' is a variant of the popular dwarf spear leaf Anubias barteri var., Nana 'and is especially appreciated by aquascapers for its variety of colours. This Anubias is originally from Cameroon. This only 5-10 cm high epiphyte is perfect for tying on roots or stones in the foreground or middle ground of nano-aquariums and tolerates soft to hard water. The original form of this variant is not yet known, it was cultivated first in 1970 by the company Tropica and distributed. Anubias barteri var. Nana, Golden Heart 'comes from fast-flowing jungle streams in Africa. Other varieties of the dwarf spur leaf are the 'petite' and the 'bonsai', but also the 'mini'. The young bright green to lemon yellow leaves turn dark green. This slow-growing, robust and fairly undemanding aquarium plant is not liked by plant-eating fish. This Anubias does not need much light.
Anubias barteri var. Nana 'Golden Heart' grows as a water lily plant. Your rhizome (the green, thick rhizome) does not always crawl along the ground, but can sometimes go up. The rhizome is not planted in Anubias because it can rot in the bottom. This means that you should tie or stick the dwarf spear leaf on an aquarium root or a decorative stone. If you only cover the laterally growing roots with gravel or soil, you can also cultivate the Anubias on the ground, only the rhizome must definitely look out of the gravel or soil.
The 5 to 10 cm tall aquarium plant looks almost breathtaking in the foreground of Nanoscapes. The easy-care Anubias barteri var. Nana 'Golden Heart' is not fussy about the water values and grows even under low light conditions. Because of its unpleasant taste, the Anubias is considered perch proof. It is an easy-care all-rounder in the aquarium! If fertilised, it will help your growth so that it can even start to bloom!
The propagation of the miniature spear leaf is as easy as the care: Just cut off a piece with two leaves and tie it up. Finished.
