Anubias Echinodorus "El Diablo" XL

Echinodorus sp. 'El Diablo', native to South America, is easy to care for and likes soft to hard water. The rosette plant, which grows to a height of 20 to approx. 35 cm, is perfect when placed in the middle or background of an aquarium.

Echinodorus sp. 'El diablo' is an exciting new breed with great colours. The large leaves grow on relatively long, slender stems. The new shoots are bright red, the older leaves turn green, but retain a red speckled pattern. The leaf veins are wine red.

Echinodorus sp. 'El diablo' is a root eater that takes up most of its nutrients through its roots and therefore needs a root fertiliser in order to thrive. CO2 fertilisation is not absolutely necessary but promotes better growth and colouration. Medium light is sufficient for good growth.

This beautiful, large plant is perfect when placed between the middle and the background in an aquarium, where it adds beautiful colour accents and can be used as a solitary plant. It grows quite large and should therefore be given enough room so that it can develop to its full potential.

Small plantlets form easily, which can be separated and replanted to multiply this plant because it is still rarely available for purchase.

Echinodorus sp. 'El diablo' is ideal for use in a discus aquarium, for example, where there is plenty of space for it to spread out. It easily tolerates the high temperatures that discus fish usually need.
