Anubias Ludwigia Repens 'Ruby' (Glandulosa 'red')
The easy-to-keep stem plant Ludwigia Repens 'Ruby' (glandulosa 'red'), the ruby-red Ludwigia, comes from North America and South America. The 40 to 50 cm high aquarium plant is perfect for the background of the aquarium and tolerates soft to medium-hard water. Suitable for cold water pools.
The ruby red Ludwigia got its name from its red foliage and is great for creating an eye-catcher in the aquarium and setting accents. The splendid wine-red colour comes into its own, especially in larger group plants.
The ruby red Ludwigia does not even necessarily need fertilisation with CO2, but with CO2 fertilisation it becomes stronger, grows a little faster and - with a good supply of nutrients at the same time - the leaf colours become more intense and shine.
In order to reproduce this beautiful red aquarium plant, you snap off the approx. 10 cm long shoot tips and reinsert them. Ludwigia repens 'Ruby' (glandulosa 'red') quickly sprouts roots in gravel or soil.
Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
The exact type of this very easy-to-grow red-leaved plant has not yet been determined. It may also be a hybrid. It doesn't matter, it looks great and doesn't make any great demands!
