HEISSNER Underwater Filters
Compact all-in-one solutions for small ponds and water features
Underwater filters offer a space-saving, all-in-one solution for total water management. Because the entire technical unit is submerged at the bottom of the pond, your shoreline remains unobstructed and free from bulky, visible filter boxes. These compact systems integrate a powerful pump, effective filter media, and a UVC clarifier within a single housing.
Ideally suited for smaller ornamental and pre-formed ponds, these systems do more than just maintain crystal-clear water; they also provide an attractive water fountain feature. The high-performance underwater filter sets from HEISSNER are quick to install and guarantee long-term water clarity, while the charming water displays ensure optimal aeration for a healthy pond ecosystem.

Definition: What is an underwater filter?
Think of an underwater filter as a compact, all-in-one command centre that works invisibly beneath the water surface. Housed within a single casing, you’ll find the pump, filtration media, and often a UVC clarifier to combat algae. Most systems are equipped with a telescopic nozzle on top, allowing you to create beautiful fountain displays without any external plumbing.
Where to use: Is this system right for your pond?
- Compact Formats: Ideally suited for pre-formed ponds and small ponds with a volume of up to 5,000 litres.
- Fish Stocking: Optimised for ornamental ponds with no fish or with low fish populations.
- Design-Led Spaces: The perfect choice for modern architectural ponds or terrace features where you want the shoreline to remain clutter-free.
Key Advantages:
- Aesthetics: The entire filtration and cleaning technology remains completely hidden from view.
- Easy to set up: No tangle of messy hoses - a single power connection is all you need to get started.
- Multifunctional performance: It cleans, reduces germs, and provides a decorative water display in one single unit.
Installation & Maintenance:
Place the unit horizontally on the pond floor. For the best visual results, ensure the fountain head sits just above the water level (you can use a plinth or bricks to raise the unit if your pond is deep). Maintenance is only required if you notice the fountain's flow is getting weaker. Simply open the housing and rinse the filter sponges with pond water to preserve the beneficial bacteria.
