Regardless of the type of external filter (internal 7 external / or trickle filter), the surface area necessary for biological cleaning is maximised which provides the optimal habitat for filter bacteria.

Excellent product, have used variations of this media since 2010 in different aquarium set-ups, in both: Internal and External filters, it never goes wrong, would strongly recommend!
