Description
The Avian Sun™ 5.0 UVB compact lamp with ballast provides birds with true full-spectrum light (including UVA and UVB) that they would receive in their natural habitat.
► Compatible with Avian Sun™ Deluxe Floor Lamp by Zoo Med. This is available separately.
UVA and UVB is essntial for birds
The UV radiation emitted by the Avian Sun™ lamp enables birds to use the full power of their vision. UVA rays are visible to birds and enable them to recognise their fellow birds, find food and identify different species. Without UVA rays, the world would appear to be devoid of colour to birds.
Birds need UVB rays for synthesising vitamin D3 and metabolising calcium.
