Anubias Cryptocoryne sp. 'Sunset'

The relatively easy to care for Cryptocoryne sp. 'Sunset', also commercially available as Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Sunset' or Sunset water trumpet, comes from Southeast Asia and tolerates soft to hard water. The rosette plant that grows to 10 to 20 cm comes into its own in the middle ground of the aquarium.

The long leaves of the slowly growing Cryptocoryne sp. 'Sunset' from Southeast Asia reach heights of up to 20 cm, which is great for the foreground to the middle distance in the aquarium. Cryptocoryne sp. 'Sunset' grows out of a base as a rosette plant.

This variant has beautiful variegated foliage: whitish to golden yellow shades in addition to green, yellowish, pink and reddish-brown colours. The Sunset Cryptocoryne is most beautifully coloured under a lot of light, with CO2 and a good nutrient situation in the aquarium. Then it grows more slowly and is not coloured quite as intensely.

Cryptocoryne sp. You can easily propagate the 'Sunset' by cutting off and planting the small daughter plants that form at the rosette base.
