Description

The relatively easy to care for Cryptocoryne wendtii Tropica, to be found in the trade as Tropica water cup, comes from Southeast Asia and tolerates soft to hard water. The 10 to 15cm rosette plant really comes into its own in the foreground to the middle ground of the aquarium.

Cryptocoryne wendtii Tropica from Southeast Asia differs from the other variants of Cryptocoryne wendtii in the overhanging, almost prostrate growth of its leaves. The leaves are dark green to brown in colour and have a hammered pattern.

With a height of 10 cm, the Tropica Cryptocoryne remains slightly smaller than the brown Cryptocoryne wendtii and can therefore be used really well in the foreground (and of course in the middle distance) of your aquarium. The rosette plant does not need special care, does not need regular pruning, it grows quite well even without CO2 and with little to medium-strong light.

You can propagate Cryptocoryne wendtii Tropica by separating the daughter plants from the rootstock.

Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
This great low-growing Cryptocoryne has overhanging leaves and looks really beautiful in the aquarium with its dark colour.
