Anubias 'Ocelot Red' Echinodorus
Ocelot sword plant

The easy-care "Rote Ozelot" Echinodorus Ozelot Red has a striking pattern of spots on its reddish-green leaves that gave it its name. As a root setter, it needs a nutrient-rich substrate.
This popular aquarium plant remains slightly smaller than other sword plants and can therefore even be used in large aquariums in the middle distance or in the background. At up to 40cm, the beautiful sword plant is nevertheless quite expansive and should therefore have a good place in the aquarium where it can spread out a bit.
Echinodorus Ozelot Red reproduces through daughter plants that grow on the inflorescences that grow above the surface of the water. To propagate, you can simply separate the daughter plants and re-plant them.
The Echinodorus Red Ocelot is an easy-care aquarium plant that does not require a lot of work. With a good supply of nutrients, it is very vigorous. It does not have to have CO2 fertilisation at all, and it does very well even under medium light. The sword plant "Red Ocelot" is very easy to care for in soft to hard water.
Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:
The Echinodorus Red Ocelot is a great eye-catcher in large aquariums thanks to its colour. Especially as a solitary plant, it looks really great; due to its origin, it fits particularly well into a South American basin.
