Anubias Rotala 'Green'

Rotala "Green" is a stem plant that comes from Asia and is easy to grow. The 20 to 80 cm high aquarium plant is perfect for the middle ground to the background of the aquarium and tolerates soft to hard water.

The pure green, fast-growing green Rotala does not turn reddish even under strong light, it is and remains green. The small leaves sit on long overhanging stems, which can also be used to create a curved effect in the aquascape.

Rotala does not need any additional fertilisation with CO2, but CO2 does help with the colours and promotes vigorous growth. The plants grow beautifully and compactly under medium to strong light. Prune it every once in a while to rejuvenate it.

This beautiful and elegant aquarium plant is very easy to propagate. Take the shoots that you cut off while pruning and simply stick them a few centimetres deep in the gravel or soil where they quickly set down roots.

You can use the fast-growing stem plant Rotala 'Green' against algae - it draws a lot of nutrients from the water and thus competes with algae, from which it takes away their nutrients. This way, algae are not able to gain a foothold - particularly important in a freshly set up aquarium.
