Description

Limnophila aromatica is related to an aromatic herb that is often used to season rice dishes in Asia. The tall stem plant can develop purple-coloured leaf undersides in good light whereas in average light intensity, the foliage remains bright green. It is very adaptable by nature - all it requires is the addition of sufficient nutrients and C02. It grows quickly, needs space to develop in the centre and background and is better suited to tall aquariums.

  • Light requirement: bright to intense
  • Optimal temperature: 15 to 30 °C
  • Water values: soft to hard, tolerant
  • ph value: 6 to 7
  • CO2 and nutrient addition: recommended
  • Propagation: cuttings
  • Emersed growth: yes

Note: The plants are grown in-vitro in sterile conditions in a laboratory. They are therefore also suitable for use with sensitive animals such as dwarf shrimps and can be used immediately. In-vitro plants do not harbour pests such as snails or parasites. No pesticides are used.
