JBL Energil

Staple food for turtles and terrapins

Out of StockOur shop no longer sells this product.

Description

JBL Energil is a staple food for small and medium-sized pond and turtles (10-50 cm). Energil consists of unprocessed whole fish and crustaceans in dried form, which float on the water surface due to the buoyancy. This type of food reflects a turtle's natural feeding behavior in its natural habitat. Because, in contrast to the usual staple feeds, which practically pre-process the feed for the animals, Energil "forces" the animals to chop up their food themselves, which promotes mobility and keeps them fit. Thanks to the dried crustacean shells, Energil is rich in calcium. This benefits the natural and healthy development of the shell.

JBL Energil is suitable for the following animal species:

  • terrapins
  • tropical pond turtles
  • sea turtles

Feeding recommendation:

Young, growing animals require a lot of energy. With sufficient food supply, they can develop into adult animals in a healthy manner. Depending on its size, you can give your turtle as much JBL Energil as it eats in 10-15 minutes 2-4 times a day in the water part. For the adult animals, it is enough if you feed them in the same way 4-5 times a week.

Note:

Stored closed and dry, the product can be kept for up to three years. Once opened, the product should be used within three months.

Our expert Oliver Knott recommends:

If you want to make the dried food sink, you have to soak it in water first! If you prefer, the dry food can also be fed with tweezers. But please be very careful!
